xli is an enhancement to xloadimage, which, itself is an enhancment of xsetroot, the standard utility for changing your desktop background in X. the major benefit of xli is that it recognizes more than just xbm files. it recognizes the following image formats:
xli also has a myriad of options for displaying your image, either within a window, or on the root window itself. from the command line, do a 'xli -help' for options.

All of the subsystems for this product can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.
This software is compatible with IRIX 5.3 and IRIX 6.1.
